Yes he has returned!

The Rookman of Rookley supports the Chillerton and Gatcombe Scarecrow Festival 2026 and points the way for everyone!

The festival is on from the 23rd to the 31st May 2026

Please go along and take a look at over 100 scarecrows (including a Highland Coo) and buy a piece of cake and a cup of tea in the hall and visit the unique Galleybaggers for some refreshment!

Gardening Galore 2025

Thankfully the Sun was shining on Rookley Village Associations annual Gardening Galore event which took place on Sunday 4th May and has been heralded by stall holders and visitors alike as a great success.

With refreshments provided by the Rookley Village Women’s Institute, a burger van, and Ice cream van, the feedback we have subsequently received has been extremely positive.

Quiz Nights at Rookley Village Hall

Initially envisaged as a thanks to our volunteers, the Rookley Village Association launched a 'Friends of the RVA' initiative during the past year, which was launched with the intention of running regular social events, starting with a regular Quiz Night which was first held in August. 

The event was a resounding success and has already become a very popular and well supported event in the local community. The most recent Quiz night was a Christmas themed event which went down extremely well and was enjoyed by all.
